There is this vivid image in my head of watching falcons flying over the desert when I was growing up overseas. It's something that has always stuck with me. Something that always made me want to connect more with that specific subset of nature.
Coming back state-side, I spent time with several different wildlife groups and rehabilitators, including those that specialized in birds of prey. For a long time that seemed to be enough. Then my wonderful wife found herself getting interested the sport of Falconry and I knew it was finally time to dive in headfirst.

For those interested in more information on falconry and what this sport does to support the species we work with, I recommend reaching out to any Falconry clubs in your area. For information on becoming a falconer and the state and federal requirements, please contact your state wildlife officials to learn more about how it is practiced in your area.
For literature about the sport and its history, please visit and support one of the Falconry suppliers.
